About Our College

Infrastructure: General Education Institute established in 1892 in Dadar, Mumbai. This is a renowned institution in the state of Maharashtra. Today, there are a total of 43 educational institutions under the auspices of this organization in Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts, including pre-primary, primary, high schools, CBSE schools, international schools, junior colleges, and women's colleges in Marathi and English medium. Our G.E.I.’s Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Joshibaug, kalyan (w) is the only one senior college of the institution and affiliated to the S. N. D. T. Women's University, Mumbai. This women's college was established in 1983 by DNC Institute Dombivli. However, in 1992, this women's college was taken under the umbrella of General Education Institute and started at S. V. Joshi Vidya Sankul in Dombivli. Later than in June 2024, with the permission of the government, this women's college was shifted to an educational institution of the organization at New High School and Junior College, Joshibaug, Kalyan West, just five minutes away from Kalyan Railway Station. The organization started the New High School in Kalyan in 1941. The renovated building has made this educational complex very attractive and useful for higher education for women. The ground floor and second floor of this building are allotted for the women's Senior College. This women's college offers undergraduate and postgraduate education i.e. BA. B.Com, MA in History, Marathi and Economic subjects.The teaching medium of Arts faculty is Marathi and Commerce faculty is English. The both faculties teaching classes are held from 12.30 pm to 5.30 pm. regularly.

At GEI’s SNDT Women’s College, Kalyan, we believe in nurturing not only academic excellence but also holistic development.
